I am looking to where I would be able to purchase a good smartphone for the US, I really like the looks of a good clamshell, but the one on the main page here made by newgen is cool aswell. Do ou all know of any that use windows mbile here in the US besides the mpx 220?

Verizon Wireless and Sprint both offer a version of the Samsung i600

The Samsung is a lot more expensive, and not necessarily worth the extra $$$ imo.

I have the Audiovox SMT 5600 and love it.

Yes, the Samsung is a bit pricey, but the OP specifically asked for clam shell style phones.

Actually he didn't specifically ask for one. He likes the clamshell, then stated the Newgen "is nice". The Newgen is not a clamshell. Then he asks about other SP2003 phones.

So if you're gonna be an arse, at least be technically correct.

I really wish there were a greater selection of smartphones in the US... we're pretty limited when you compare all the stuff that Orange or O2 users can buy.

If you are a Verizon customer, you have the i600 as your only choice for a smartphone. Although I like the phone, It would be nice to have a little more selection (less expensive would be nice).

Which carrier has the Audiovox SMT5600?

AT&T has it. It should be available with Cingular in the next few months or so.

I have an Audiovox SMT6500 I purchase on ebay for about $250. I unlocked it on the web and it has worked on Cingular with absolutely no problems whatsoever. If you are not locked into the clamshell design, I recommend it whole heartedly.

Amazon.com has it for $49 with rebates...

I purchased mine at full price in the store, but brought a copy of the Amazon web page. They dropped the price down to $149 + tax, and are giving me $149 in credit after my first month of use... Great phone.
