ActiveSync and GPRS at the same time?

Why can't I connect to the internet, and have my ActiveSync connection up at the same time. I have a SMT5600 and ActiveSync 3.8. If I connect to the phone via USB, and then get on the internet (or MSN Messenger) on the phone my ActiveSync connection drops.

I'm trying to use Remote Control Display to access my Instant Messenger program. It works GREAT until I sign on.

Any ideas? I figure it is just a configuration issue somewhere.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

No one else has this problem?

Can everyone connect to their phone via ActiveSync while the phone is connected to the internet? I can only do one or the other. If I am connected to the internet on the phone, and then connect the USB cable my internet connection drops.

Surely someone else has heard of this. It's been a long battle, and I don't want to loose because I can't use Remote Display Control, and be on the internet at the same time.

Pleeaase hellllp!

Thank you!

You should be able to.

I know when people set their C500/5600 as a modem and connect it to their laptop, they can get pretty decent speed internet access... what I don't know is if they can still transfer files to/from the phone while this is going on.

So, I really don't know. lol Anyone else?

Ok!!!! I got it working.

I had to set the data connection from within Pocket Internet Explorer to "Passthrough". Finally !! I didn't even know about the ability to use your PCs internet connection. That's even better. Now I can use my works T-1 instead of paying for GPRS connectivity. Sweet!

Thanks for all the help!!
