Guest spyda Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Any one experienced instant messenger (AgileMessenger) disconnects during voice calls? Also, my activesync disconnects when I have AgileMessenger running. -icky
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 By default MS smartphones seem to disconnect from GPRS when making a call or when connected to your PC via USB. Presumably the latter happens so that if you want to use PassThrough the phone doesn't get confused... or something a bit more technical sounding which means the same thing anyway... What should actually happen is that the GPRS session gets suspended whilst making the call, and then resumes again when it's finished. You can make it do that by using the SmartEase Orange Shell, which I can't remeber the address for but you can find by doing a search.
Guest PayableOnDeath Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 Would SmartEase Orange Shell also sort out the problem of AgileMessenger, etc stopping calls from coming when on gprs cos on mine if I have AgileMessenger and msn on then when I get a call it rings then cant seem to answer it even when pressing the answer button which then makes people to the voice mail and I have to restart the phone to sort it out thanks PayableOnDeath
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Never heard of that one, I'd suggest a search for Agile Messenger threads and see if anyone else has that problem. SmartEase only keeps your GPRS connected until you manually disconnect it. It does (apparently) drain your battery a little faster, but doesn't seem to add any significant data transfer (which is what you pay for with GPRS).
