Guest psneddon Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 I've had my MDA compact for 2 weeks now and here are my main problems; I just wondered if this is common to other people. 1) I pair my bluetooth headset, I then click on the headset icon and click close to turn off headset mode. Problem is if I leave it for a while the only way I can get the phone back in headset mode is to remove and re-pair the headset. I've tried pressing the headset button, turning bluetooth on/off but nothing  2) I installed MS money PPS the other day and tried installing it to both "Storage Card" and "Storage" (after removing it)- the result was my device became ultra unstable and 9/10 would crash on entering my pin after boot up. I eventually removed the program and it sort of went back to normal but still seems a bit unstable - I've noticed this with a few other programs too. All the profile applications I have tried have resulted in my device not even booting up (it sticks on a white screen) and a hard reset is the only option. 3) Sometimes my backup battery jumps form 100% to 0% and I get a notification telling me the battery is extremely low. After this the touchscreen stops working until I do a soft reset - after that the battery is back at 100%??? Why is it so easy for applications to totally trash the device? I've used the smartphone devices since day one and expected the experience to be simular but better. I'm now missing the reliability of my smartphone. Thank god I have sprite backup. The thing works ok after a hard reset until I start putting programs on it - I put all I can on the storage and storage cards. Paul
Guest GothTeddy Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 1) I've had no problems with my HBH-600: I turn it on, it connects; I turn it off, it disconnects. 2) Ditto with the profile apps: can't remember the name of it, went something like this: install -> reboot -> white screen -> shouting and cursing -> hard reset... I can do without profiles methinks  3) Nope :( It's a pain in the arse, but the road to getting a perfectly working PPC is a rocky one. I'd suggest making use of the xBackup util - backs up straight to your SD so no faffing around if you're 'in the field', so to speak, when something goes wrong. Make a backup before you install any new programs and you'll be fine :D
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 How did you hard reset? Same as the m2000?
