I just wanted to show you guys my C500/SMT5600 cradle that I made. It's a free-standing style cradle. It stands on a slight angle with footings or completely vertical without. It holds the phone firm, works great and I've been using it for about 3 months now. It took awhile to come up with the idea, fabricate the parts and to put everything together but it was definitely worth it! It’s made from plastic and molded rubber.

It's nice to see some interest, I didn't expect to possibly start selling the cradle but I would like to see enough demand for it before I start producing the cradle. At the very least 10 people who wants to order it I suppose. As for price, I think $18 USD + Shipping is a fair and good price. Sounds good? I'm going to look into having some nice wood cradles made that are fitted to the C500/SMT 5600. I'll find out about it today and post some info.

I'm expecting if I get these made, they'll be around $39 and be made of figured English Clarrow Walnut.

hi there, quite a snazzy little design there, i know you might be selling some of these but is there any chance you could answer a few questions about how you constructed it?

I am planning to build one myself having seen your pictures!

It looks like if i can find some nice rubber tube like yours and put a nice cap on it then all i need to do is thread in my mini usb plug into the tube at the side and then up into the cap. as long as it is a tight fit this should keep the phone secure when plugged in. Is it that simple or did you have some problems when connecting disconnecting the phone from the mini-usb? thanks if you're able to answer, PM if you want to keep the design private.

The cradle is made from plastic for the external housing and molded rubber for the internal base where the phone sits on. There aren't any problems disconnecting the mini usb from the phone.

EDIT: I was going to publish the instructions but I would need alternative parts that are widely available and works well since some parts on the cradle are custom fabricated.
