Im a new MPx200 User, ive only had it 2 days, its on the Orange UK NW & is running Windows Mobile 2003 Ver 4200 (build 0). So i have tried to manualy Delete the said files via the File Manager, but it keeps saying "Fail to delete this file", i have also tried deleting the same files when viewed by explore in activesync, but still no luck. Ive even selected each file & tried to untick them from Read Only & then refresh & delete it, but the phone wont let me, can someone plz! help me :( Problem 2 Ive tried to Cert unlock my phone with Alphafluxes Unlock.cab but that fails too, ive followed the instructions by the letter, but it just wont install/work! :D PLZ! can somebody help me before i end up startin a Lemming trend & jumping off the nearest cliff !.... Thanx in advance 4 any & all help, it will be very much appreciated!. aPoPhus
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Welcome to the site :( Most of the preinstalled applications cannot be deleted as they are part of the ROM and live in the main Windows folder. This folder gets rewritten every time the phone starts up so it is not worth worrying about trying to remove them. The only app I would remove is the Jmms application (used to send MMS) but the only way to remove this on a new phone is to do a Master Reset and wipe the phone. As for application unlocking, it mentions in the first post inthe alphflux unlocking thread that newer models of the MPX200 can not be unlocked by this application. You now need to use the Orange developers site which you can get to here  http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx
Guest aPoPhus Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Thankyou awarmer :D I wont worry about those few files now, but as for the Cert Unlocking, i forgot to mention that my MPx200 isnt new, it was new on 17 jan 2003 & i got it off ebay 2 days ago, so does that still mean its too new for the normal unlock???. I have been playing with this phone allday & its Awesome, im so glad i got it, i just cant wait to be able to unlock it so i can use unsigned appz n games on it :( Thanx again, ur da Man  aPoPhus
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 It is possible it had the newer update installed. Just use the Orange site it's free and easy to use.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 WM2003 does'nt need application unlocking. Yep don't know how I missed that one I only read the unlock bit :?:  :?: In case you are wondering, the G on the LCD display also indicates that you have GPRS available but are not actually using it. The only time you are using GPRS on your phone is when there is a G displayed on the signal bar.
Guest aPoPhus Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 ok, thankyou guys. Ive managed to get SPVman to work on my phone, but SPVInvaders still resists me & wont work, comes up with some error  You say that G means im GPRS Enabled, but when its above the signal bar it means GPRS is in use, well im a tad confused at mo, cos on my main screen the G is allways in the middle on top of my screen which is ok, but when i close my phone, the G displays above the signal bars, so hence im confused lol ??? also where r my GPRS Setting, cos i cant seem to find them ?? Thankyou for all your help aPoPhus
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 the G on the LCD display also indicates that you have GPRS available but are not actually using it. I was discribing the G in the signal bars on the main display. The LCD is as I discribed it above
