'05' bug gone? (AT&T to Cingular on 5600)

I switched my 5600 from AT&T to Cingular to take advantage of the unlimited internet. I got the mediaworks internet access directions here and that works fine -- the only thing that didn't work was the voicemail indicator. Whenever a new voicemail arrived or was deleted, Cingular sent a blank text message from "05" which did not trigger the voicemail indicator. This annoyed me because I would always have new text messages from 05.

I tried SMS Notify and with the help of the creator, found a way to "spamguard" text messages from 05 which DID delete all the 05 text messages. This was a good half-solution.

Anyway, to make a long story short, the voicemail indicator just started working yesterday. I did nothing -- SMS Notify was off at the time. BUT no more 05 messages. Now my 5600 works perfectly under Cingular.

Is there anyone else who still gets the 05 message OR anyone whose voicemail indicator started working again? Think Cingular changed their protocol? Why would this happen?

I used to have this same problem. Starting last week, around Feb 19th it stopped happening and my VM indicator now works. I have a SMT5600 unlocked from AT&T being used on Cingular network w/ 64K sim and all internet and other settings ported to cingulars.

How did you "port it" to cingular? I just got a cingular sim (formerly ATT) and I am having all kinds of problems getting my SMT 5600 to connect to the net, get email... Heck, it stays roaming on ATT. I't unlocked, but I'm temped to run the unlock program again to see what happens...

Any help would be appreciated.

THanks

Cylon
