Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Hi, I've read that you can send files via Bluetooth in the original File Manager that comes on the SPV C500, is this true? I've tried installing SMART EXPLORER but with no luck as I don't have that IPSM folder, any help on installing SMART EXPLORER??
Guest James Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 1. Yes yo can send files with the Built in File Explorer, you need to select Send By IR and it will also list Bluetooth devices. Smart Explorer is better though! 2. it should just install mate.. download SmartExplorer from www.binarys.com for the latest version. (What do you need the IPSM folder for??) good luck
Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 THanks Smartexplorer sorted now.
Guest Zampone Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 SPV C500 Newbie (3days) How can I send files via Bluetooth :?: I only have File Manager v1.3 'Send via Infrared' only brings up the ability to beam, this is no good for people who are not stood next to me. I can recieve file no problem from any one. It's frustrating.
Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 ZAMPONE... I had exactly the same thing. Go to www.binarys.com and download SMARTEXPLORER, just download the PC setup file (not the CAB file, I got in all sorts of trouble over this!!), link up your SPV and follow the setup file instructions... You can now send via BLUETOOTH!!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 remember to bond devices first.
Guest Zampone Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 remember to bond devices first. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 'bond devices'?
Guest speedme Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 'bond devices'? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the complete way : 1. Get yourself a BT dongle (to hook onto the pc) first, if you don't have one yet. 2. Install the BT software for the dongle (or when you have XP SP2, it comes with BT drivers). Mostly the vendor software contains WIDCOMM drivers, which are better than the standard MS drivers in SP2 (although MS would claim otherwise). 3. Once you have installed the software, you hook on the dongle and set the phone in discoverable mode. 4. Let the pc look for the phone 5. When found, follow the instructions on the screen to "pair" the two devices, phone and pc. You need to pair, so that both can talk to each other 6. Once paired, and Smartexplorer installed on the phonem, select a file and tape on FILE -> SEND&RECEIVE -> Send file by IR/BT 7. Set in the BT settings on the pc (in taskbar) to receive-mode (don't know the exact naming for this option) and the file will be retrieved from the phone. 8 The other way around (pc -> phone) works quite simular. Good luck trying this out
Guest Zampone Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 (edited) Ahh thank you  , I thought you were talking about pairing with another phone which seems odd. :?: btw does anyone know how to change the brightness/contrast on this thing? It's way too bright. Also getting rid of that bloody flashing led would be a bonus, I wouldn't mind if it was to notify of missed call/SMS but it just goes green-blue all f-ing day!!!!!!! Thanks again people.
