Hello again

I have just received my MMC card from TOMTOM that is not corrupted this time and have copied all the files over to the mini SD card no problem - I have activated my Traffic account but when I launch it from the phone it guides me through UK English, the way I want the time to be shown and who I want to read the directions to me but after I do this it comes up with No maps found! Can anyone help - I thought I was nearly there!

Thanks

Mitch

You have to make sure you copy from the MMC card exactly as you see it so not subfolders on your new card you are copying to etc.

If the maps are not in the correct location they will not work.

Thanks very much for helping me

I have been trying for 4 hours with this and have not got anywhere. I have copied the SD card to the memory on my PC. I am then copying the files to the Storage card under the folder name of TomTom. I am sorry if I am being really stupid but are you able to tell me if this is correct or how I should do it?

Many thanks

Mitch

I am then copying the files to the Storage card under the folder name of TomTom

As I said copy exactly what you see on the MMC card.

Do not put them in another folder, just copy 'as is'

It is still not working when I do this.

I have put my MMC Card in the card reader and on the PC the folder it shows is Tomtom. Within this folder are 4 other folders names 2577, Great-Britain-map, System, and TomTom

I click on the main Tomtom folderand copy and paste into my documents. I then put the miniSD into the card reader and copy and paste the file back over to the MiniSD with the folder directory remaining exactly the same.

I then go into my file manager on the C500, click on storage card, Tomtom, Tomtom and scroll down to run the fileTomTom Mobile.exe. It then goes through the initial setup until it comes to No maps found!

I am not changing the folders at all but it is still not working

Any ideas on where I am going wrong in my process?

Many thanks

Mitch

Strange as the standard MMC from TomTom does not contain a folder

with all the other folders inside it.

If it is installed correctly tomtom will appear in the programs list and the phone does not need to be explored to locate the exe to run it.

Sure you do not have a dodgy copy?

Hi - It was a replacement for the corrupt one I received from Global positioning systems last week - I have put it in my Nokia 6600 and it works fine - I really do not know what to do from here - Are you able to advise what the directory address is for your maps on your C500 - eg - \Storage Card\Tomtom\Great-Britain-Map\ and that this folder should contain 11 files?

Thanks

There should not be the first folder called TomTom, did they send you an official TomTom replacement for your corrupt card?

You are quite right - I have deleted the first file which I must have made on my PC originally to copy the folders to - what an idiot - sorry to wast your time over something so trivial. If I can be of any help then please let me know - I work for the network in a sales role and would be happy to help if you need any inside info.

Cheers

No worries everyone makes mistakes, glad it's working now :(

How about a cheap M500? or should I just go to Tmobile and go for their version?

M500 - not heard of that yet? The M2500 is coming soon - we have single number available now which allows you have the same mobile number on 2 sim cards. Also there is a software download for the 3g card which helps the performance.

Interesting phone - It will be good to have something smaller than the M1000/M2000 - I have only been able to find info on the M500 and treo 650 as handsets that are coming out soon. I will keep an eye on it and let you know as soon as prices are showing. 3G on a smartphone will be big - especially with Live TV!
