Guest bydandie Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 are these the same settings as for PAYG GPRS settings? Pete <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No the settings are different. Google for O2 WAP GPRS (PAYG)
Guest kentyboy Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 What is the difference between the wap gprs and the internet gprs then? I'm using the 'connect to the internet' setting on my mpx. is this the right one?

Guest b0bby Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) i second that... just tried it... My Imap mail works Messenger works this is awsome... msn is just as fast as using it on ur pc. [fao payandgo ppl] o2 p&g wap doesnt support msn :) the ports are not available. contract customers only sorry. One thing id like to know tho.. since the uk c500 update iv not been able use "Outlook Email" in "Messages" only IMAP is available why is this? IMAP better to use tbh because it doesnt download the emails so i can later download them to my pc... but still id like to know why pop email features has vanished its still in the message menu list... but you cant create any accounts for it. -*Rob Edited August 25, 2005 by b0bby
Guest Potatohead Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Hi All. I picked up on this thread when i was trying to get my O2 MMS etc working on my SPV c500 with the Qtek rom update flash. Thought i'd join up & share my pain/joy (delete as applicable :?: ) After much agonising, calls to O2 data support (who were v.helpful) the steps below seem to work for me. The only issue I have now is that O2 doesnt seem to like Video messages or Animations. Trying to sort. Let me know how yhou get on with this: __________________________________________________________________ O2 MMS/GPRS/WAP Settings for SPV C500 Flashed with QTek8010 Rom Upgrade 8010.2.1.32.11 (ORANGE TOTALLY REMOVED) - 22/August/2005 ___________________________________________________________________ Start->Settings->Data Connections->Menu->Edit Connections->GPRS Connections Menu->Delete all (if any) and start Fresh. ___________________________________ GPRS INTERNET Menu->Add >Description: O2 Mobile Web >connects to: the internet >access point: mobile.o2.co.uk >username: o2web >pwd: password >Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >IP Address: --leave blank-- Done ___________________________________ GPRS MMS Menu->Add >Description: O2 MMS >connects to: secure wap network >access point: wap.o2.co.uk >username: o2wap >pwd: password >Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >IP Address: --leave blank-- Done ___________________________________ GPRS WAP Menu->Add >Description: O2 WAP >connects to: WAP Network >access point: wap.o2.co.uk >username: o2wap >pwd: password >Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 >IP Address: --leave blank-- Done ___________________________________ go back to Connections Now Set up a "Proxy Connection" >Description: O2 Proxy >connects from: internet >Connects to: WAP Network >Proxy (name:port): 193.113.200.195:9201 >Type: WAP >User Name:--leave blank-- >Password:--leave blank-- Done ___________________________________ Go back to Data Connection page (done twice) Check Data Connection Settings Selections are as follows: >Internet Connection: O2 Mobile Web >Work Connection: Automatic >WAP Connection: O2 Wap >Secure Wap Connection: O2 MMS Done then Press the Home key. ___________________________________ Now you Have to Adjust the MMS/MMSC Settings and its in a different place: Start->Configurations->MMS Settings >Check Retrieve Immediately >No.Of Attempts: 3 >Connect Via: Secure WAP Network >Photo Resolution: Original Resolution Menu->MMSC Settings->Menu->Delete all (if any) and start Fresh. Menu->New >Name: O2 MMSC >MMSC URL: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 >WAP Gateway: 193.113.200.195 >Port: 9201 >Max Sending Size: 100k Done->Back->Done then Press the Home key. ___________________________________ O2 Media Messaging should now work if your account is set up for it. Mine Now works fine after putting this lot together. ___________________________________
Guest logicalstep Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Does the phone not have an O2 settings shortcut on the start menu ?? I have a mpx220 on O2 and all the settings are apparently buried in the rom cus when i did a hard reset, the settings were still there when i turned it back on. Logicalstep
