Plus Partners Semsons have dropped me a note to let me know that they are now taking pre-orders on the new GlobalSat SiRF STAR III based unit!

For the uninitiated, the SiRF STAR II chipset powers the majority of BT GPS units out there, and the III revisions have been VERY eagerly awaited, and are said to offer some great benefits.

Massive sensitivity improvements, enabling fixes in much more hostile terrain (and even indoors in some circumstances) are promised, as well as a stunning 15 hour + battery life on this particular unit!

Click here for more details and to preorder (MoDaCo Plus members, don't forget to apply your 10% discount!)... and I have pasted some details below.

Can't wait for my pre-ordered unit to ship!

2nd shipment delayed until April.

However, this is because the original unit had a problem with the bluetooth connection hardware. If the unit was too cold it would shut down!! This problem has been sorted, hence the delay in the second shipment. seems plenty of people who got the first shipment are returning the unit
