Guest benzo Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 My M2000 keeps dying- it'll be in an active state, then suddenly switches itself off. The on button doesn't wake it up- It takes a soft reset. Problem is, this hard resets it! I am so sad that this is happening, cos I liked it very much.
Guest Pondrew Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Ok, this is probably too simple to solve the problem but the HTC Blue Angel turns the backlight off after a set time and when the keylock is on only pressing the on/off button will turn it back on. Could it be your unit is going to standby? Could the on/off button be faulty so not allowing you to turn it back on? Indeed, if pressing the reset does a hard reset it may think the on/off is being pressed hence causing the hard reset. Does the green mobile signal light still flash after it crashes?

The on/off button works most of the time. But when it doesn't- I can only remove battery and then replace quickly-> but then I get a hard reset which is a pain in the bottom. I spoke to orange, and they are sending me a jiffy bag to return it to them and giving me a refund. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.
Guest benzo Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 You not getting a replacement? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To be quite honest with you, the answer is no. I am contemplating the Jam, as I really found the M2000 to be quite a big beast.. and what with the hard resetting, destiny persuaded me to return the M2000 and get money back. Thanks anyway to all of you that helped me out with my M2000 issues.
Guest fraser Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 Shame, it's a great toy, I'm very happy with mine.

Suggestions of slight build quality issues (rattling noise?) and smaller screen and less memory on the Magician combined with the fact I've not had a single unrequested hard reset decided me to stick with my MDA III.
Guest philgriffiths Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 I'm loving my M2000. had a day of loading softwarre onto it yesterday that i've been meaing to do for ages. Its running like a charm. Only problem i have really had is that the sliding screen has put some unsightly black marks at the bottom of the keyboard, but a bit of spit and a coarse fingertip soon gets rid of them!

And I've been doing a lot of messing around with, installing software, hacking settings, swapping battery now and again. A couple of lockups, but they are always down to whatever application was running at the time (which I stopped using!).
Guest blackhorse Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 My M2000 was doing exactly this, just hard resetting itself on its own accord within minutes of coming back online! TS diagnosed it faulty and getting a new one sent out today
Guest dazultra2000 Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Mines started to do this too...not particularly often, but it is doing it.
