Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Hi, I've tried installing SmartExplorer twice now to my phone and each time it doesn't seem to work! I have a SPV C500... the only things I seem to get is 'SP Task Manager' and 'SP TM Free Mem'. Not an explorer where I can send things via Bluetooth which is the main reason I installed it!! I've tried using the send via infrared on the original File Explorer but the phone never finds anybody elses bluetooth even though they are set to visible... Am I just unlucky here?!? Also, I've noticed that when the phone reboots itself my ringtones/message alerts semm to disappear, any reason why? I've got them stored in the WINDOWS folder. Thanks Paul
Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Oh just to add... where it says this in the Binary instructions. "2. Copy the CAB file into the folder \IPSM\Windows\Start Menu\Accessories" I don't have the IPSM folder
Guest Confucious Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 SP Task Manager is a different app. Get Smart Explorer fromhere. Do not store anything in the Windows folder as this ia overwritten on bootup - it is not a user storage area. HTH
Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Thanks... so if I wanted to use a wav file as a ringtone how would I do it?? It only picks up the sounds from the Windows folder doesn't it??? Finally got SmartExplorer to work (what a fool!!), isn't the Bluetooth Transfer available on version 1.0 then? I had v2 running and was trying to send a MP3 to my sister which was about 5mb, but it cut out halfway through. I thought it might be something to do with v2. being a beta version so I put v1 on and Bluetooth transfer doesn't seem to be on there!! HEELLPPPPP!!
Guest beersoft Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 if you copy things into the /storage/my documents folder it will suvive a reboot later Owen
Guest zim_zimmer Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Yeah but can I use sounds as a ring tone from there??? If so, how?!?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Place your ringtones in Storage\Application Data\Sounds you can also use the My Documents on your storage card.
