Guest FragMeister Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 (edited) For some reason, I dont seem to be able to connect to my email pop3 server to download email. I have been with zoom.co.uk for years, and everyone knows that address. Alas they dont seem to offer email forwarding, or else I could just get a different address. I can send email (by using t-mobiles smtp server) but incoming email wont work, and before you all scoff, I *have* checked that I have entered the account and server information ok. From zoom's website, it doesnt say that it only allows you to receive email when dialled up to them directly. Has anyone else got an email address from zoom.co.uk, and got it working ok?? TIA, Chris... Edited March 8, 2005 by FragMeister
Guest FragMeister Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Ok, a bit more info. I have checked that I can receive email using my new t-mobile SIM on this account on my original SPV (canary), so it seems that this is a problem on my shiny new mda compact. Could I ask a favour and maybe someone would be kind enough to sign up free for a zoom.co.uk email address and see if they are able to receive email, as I cannot see why it doesnt work!! :x TIA, Chris...
Guest inspectorgadjet Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Are you using pop3.zoom.co.uk as your pop server? Also, with zoom, you only enter your user id in the user id box...not full address. And don't forget, you have to use the t-mobile smtp server to send. I can't remember the exact address of that off hand.
Guest nicuk Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I have a zoom account and was able to download with my nokia 6600 but since switching to mda compact have been unable to receive messages from zoom although i was able to download pop messages from a mates non-zoom account using it. weird For some reason, I dont seem to be able to connect to my email pop3 server to download email.
