Can I buy, on the street in London, a T-Mobile MDA Compact phone? How much would it cost? Will it be SIM-unlocked then?

Im fairly sure you can't get the T-mobile version sim-free.

(unless you look on ebay or the like)

The I-mate Jam, which as Im sure you are aware is the same thing you can get sim free though.
