Guest dazza12 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Can anyone who has used PDA MODS to order accessories for their PDA/Phone advise if they have ever had problems with them? I ordered a Tomtom cradle for my M2000 from them on Friday afternoon. I opted for the more expensive shipping when I ordered it, as I needed it fairly urgently. They were showing as having plenty in stock. I checked their order tracking system today to see if it was on it's way, and it told me they were awaiting payment. Very surprising considering I got a receipt for my payment from Worldpay straight after placing my order. I'm assuming their priority service means next day? If so, this should at least be showing as shipped by now. I'm not very happy with paying for a priority service only to have delays in the process. So, if you've ever ordered from them, can you let me know how long it has taken to get to you and if you've had any problems with their order tracking system? I just want to see if it's just a dodgy database on their website, or whether this is the standard level of service from them.
Guest fraser Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 They've billed you and they haven't shipped it? That illegal IIRC. I used to pre-order a lot of DVDs and stuff in the early days of online shopping, and a few places got slapped over that from what I remember. If you are really peeved and don't get any compensation from them (at least the difference in the shipping), don't open the package. In the UK you get 28 days money-back guarantee on just about any mail order package. "just about any" is because you can actually return with the package open, but things like used underwear and earings are clearly excluded! Yuck! But not opening it means that there won't be any hastle.
Guest dazza12 Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I've emailed and rang them today. Earlier today I was told that the card issuer delayed the payment. If this was so, why did I get a receipt from their card company immediately to say it was accepted? He couldn't answer that, I think he realised I wasn't going to buy that excuse. He said it would be shipped immediately. They replied to my email this evening to say that the order simply wasn't processed. At last, some honesty. If someone had messed up, that's all they needed to say in the first place. I'm a bit annoyed that I've been messed around, but happy that someone at least put their hands up. It's being shipped tomorrow, hopefully I'll have it soon. I hope so, my M2000 isn't as usable on the passenger seat with Tomtom running.
