Hi all,

i've been using gprs internet for almost a month now since buying my c500-until friday when it suddenly stopped working and has flatly refused to get going again.

i'm using it in italy on the omnitel network and if i try to connect i just get-'Unable to connect. Verify you have network coverage and try again.'

not only that but i can't download emails either using pop3.-the internet just doesn't work.

i called vodafone italia and they verified that gprs etc was still active on my account and insist that i must have accidentally altered the connection settings (which i know i didn't) but neverthe less i have re-entered them using MARTIN's info from the repository and still no cigar!

so the settings seem ok, vodafone italia confirm that gprs IS working on my phone-and up until friday it worked like a charm (oh yeah--i have got credit on the phone!!)

PLEASE can anyone help???

Martin are you around anywhere?????

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for your time.

when i called vodafone italia they couldn't send me different settings for the phone or really help at all because they've never heard of spv c500 or htc typhoon or any of the other alieses this phone travels under!!!

Have you tried you SIM in another phone to prove it's not a network problem ?

yeah i've tried that-thanks though.

i don't get it, it worked perfectly and now, suddenly, nothing. i've checked the settings and they're the same as before.

if i connect to email it says 'connecting' and there's the little 'g' in the top right hand corner and then it disconnects.

if i try to connect to a web site it tells me either that there isn't network coverage or that it can't find the proxy server.

i've been into the explorer menu-connections and tried to switch around from detect settings to not detect settings, changed from connecting to internet to connecting to wap network--nothing.-i can however send and receive mms.

have you got any other ideas martin as to what the problem could be?

i even found a site called windowsmobile.com and got settings off there for the qtek 8010 but even they don't work. can you think of anything???

anything??

thanks for your time.
