Just wondering if it would make any differance if I upgraded my standard 1gb card to the new 45X and 60X speed ??

I doubt it. The speed the card operates depends on the device it is used in. For the high end cameras, a faster card means less time between shots, but on a lowend camera it probably wouldn't help much if at all.

On the HTC Magician, i doubt you would see any difference, except when transfering files to the SD card using a USB2 card reader.

I got a 60x card, and it does seem faster in use than my clunky old SD card, but reading and writing from my PC through activesync is as slow as ever.

Have just got a cheapy card reader from www.ebuyer.com for £3.99+Vat DELIVERED which is much quicker than doing it through the phone

I'm not too sure on how the Jam behaves with Hi Speed cards, but I know from the ones I've had in the past for my trusty IPaq 2210 that they can make a difference.

Saying that i've also found that the biggest factor relating to speed is down the manufacturer. Cards which claim to be the same speed from one supplier can be sooo much slower than another manufacturers so going for the fastest card is not always the best option. I think ove the last couple of years the fastest cards i've had was a Panasonic 256Mb 40x card which even now when I use it next to some faster cards can easily hold its own.

in my own humble opinion, i think it has a slight difference.

with regards of watching movies or listening to mp3 music on your phone.

I doubt it would be enough (for just PDA usage) to justify the large price difference.
