C500 TomTom bluetooth GPS

Having hunted through the forums, I have now successfully got my GPS unit to talk to my C500 via Bluetooth. The problem I have is this.....When I go into the GPS configuration set up in TomTom, I can see that the satellite signal bars are picking up signals off the GPS unit. However, TomTom does not recognise these within the sotware....it just says there is no signal....it's lying because I can see the signal in the GPS Configuration set up.......HELP!!!!!!! :x Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix? I thought I had installed the traffic update, but the option is still greyed out in the TomTom menu...is this normal?
