I finally did it!!

I have noticed two (pretty deep) scratches on the bottom of my Jam near where you plug in the charger!! I dont understand what happened, I am always so careful!!

The shine now seems to have worn off slightly on it, I hate scratched/dented devices.... Suppose its off to the shops to see what else is out now.

Oh come on now.

Think of it as a distinguishing mark. The thing is unstealable now, with its rugged good looks... chicks love that kind of thing...

Snap out of it man :D

I know how you feel. I got a scratch on the silver plastic around the buttons on my old iPAQ and I was devastated. I have only had my XDA Mini for maybe 3 weeks, and I know that the back is going to get scratched. Need a play-through case. I have lost hope in getting the dead pixel fixed (well, the unit swapped actually).

wasn't there a post somewhere else pointing out that htc in the uk will replace the casing of the unit for about £30?

Surely that would be a better option than getting rid of it.

I was only kidding about getting rid of it, I still love this thing, though I am annoyed it got marked!! Having the case replaced might be an idea but dont know if I can go without it for a few weeks....

Yeah...you can get the case fixed for around £30 from HTC Europe. I had mine done and the total turnaround time should be about a week. Providing you pay online by debit or credit card. If you pay by cheque they will wait until the cheque clears before beginning work.

MitchellO: A dead pixel is a faulty unit and they should be replacing it without any questions. My first MDA compact had a dead pixel and they didn't even ask twice about switching it for a new one. You should have kicked up more of a fuss if they weren't interested. Speak to management or something. Get a littled p'd off.

:-k

I might look into that, depends how much it annoys me over the next few weeks... At the moment I am trying my best to ignore it!

I'd replace it anyway - if it's not a bother wait until the last week of the warranty - then you'll have a new unit and get a high re-sale value in 18 months when the next big thing hits the streets.

you'd not get on with an ipod if you dont like scratches .... that loverly shinny silver ...... stays scratch free about 1 minute ..... but to be honest hasnt spoiled the look to much.
