Guest WWWeed Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Right Yesterday everything was cool, I had everything set up fine, then I try and set it up for another wifi network, and all my settings got screwed up. Anyway now have eveything set up fine, it all connects and things, However I cant get on to the internet or anything on my network. Its all down to the 802.1x tab in the wifi settings, Every time I try and change the EAP type from PEAP to certificate and click ok, it makes no changes. Is there a patch or a 3rd party program I could use to get round this?????
Guest fraser Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I had this problem at some point. No idea how I got rid of it, but I did somehow without hard reseting. Try deleting all of the networks in the wifi, soft reset & let it rediscover your home network. The problem with WiFi is that the settings are all fragmented in differnet pages. There's the Networks one, the WiFi manager and a couple more that are like 4 or 5 clicks away. Horrible interface.

PS thanks for the reply....
Guest fraser Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Shouldn't think two networks are a problem. I've been unsuccessfully trying to connect to a node at work while my home network has been fine. I've not had to change the settings between locations. The one work isn't an offical one, we don't have any, so I think it's just someone's laptop with an inbuilt card and I'm not getting an IP, so it's not the phones fault. Are the SSID's different on both networks? That's what the phone uses to differentiate. Did you try removing the settings? That's one of the things I did a few times when messing around. A soft-reset now and then seemed to help (use a task manager to kill everything first). Then some point, it just all fell into place.
Guest WWWeed Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Yup it seems it have REAL troble at switching between networks
