Why? How can i prevent this from happening? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ciudatelu, I've had this problem before on my SMT5600 with both the original and the SP3 firmware. Do you have the phone set to download the full text of the messages? Once I set my phone to only download 5000KB of the message, they stopped disappearing. You do have to keep in mind that if this solves the problem, you also won't be able to "Mark for Download" any of the messages that do come through. I found that even if I then downloaded the full text, then the next time I went to look for it, the message was gone. Hope this helps.
Guest ciudatelu Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 (edited) mcapiro: Yeah, that's what i've also noticed. Now i'm keeping it set to download only the first 5000 bytes. But ... if i get a longer message and i'm interested in reading it all, i've got a problem... Who else has this problem? Does anyone know how to solve this? Regards Oh, and another thing, under Messaging, my pop3 account is simply named "POP3". Can I change its name? I don't like it appearing like that.. Edited March 4, 2005 by ciudatelu
Guest tsutton Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Oh, and another thing, under Messaging, my pop3 account is simply named "POP3". Can I change its name? I don't like it appearing like that.. You can't rename it... you'll have to make a new account with a different name and then delete the old one.
Guest ciudatelu Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Where does it ask me for a name? It didn't ask me... as far as I remember! :D
Guest tsutton Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Where does it ask me for a name? It didn't ask me... as far as I remember! ;) As soon as you created it. :D
Guest Confucious Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Where does it ask me for a name? It didn't ask me... as far as I remember! :D It doesn' actually ask. There is, on one of the screens, POP3 filled in which you can change. If you add another account it will make you change iot as you can't have 2 accounts with the same name. It is not at all obvious, hence my main email account is called POP3 on the phone and all my other accounts have far more meaningful names!
