Reflash with the orange ROM.

If that works you've probably got a dodgy ROM, where did you get it from?

The Imate SP3 update has only been released to IMATE customers and not legally available to the general public.

Now for a possible solution, have you SIM unlocked your phone? If not the update will not work.

@mirpy1:

As I understood from other posts, this happens if you have used the C500v2.exe (version 2) unlocker. Do a SIM unlock again with c500v3.exe (version 3) and then reflash again.

@awarner:

I think it's impossible to flash it if you don't sim-unlock it first. It would give the "Invalid vendor ID" message. Am I wrong?

Yep normally you get that message but you always see strange things happening from time to time here so I thought I'd start with the basics first :D

I think you don't need to pay again. I think you can just run the unlock again with the same key, but with the latest unlock program from the website.

Better though to check with Florin about key-software compatibility - but if you have payed once, I don't think he'd charge you again for the same phone.

Once SIM unlocked the phone will stay that way :D

It has only been updates from the SMART network that can relock the SIM

and on the Tanager (E100) they actually altered the ROM to stop you entering the SIM unlock code so you were stuck on the SMART network.

Indeed, it will. The thing is - and I don't know the details of what Florin is doing - the unlocker rewrites some things in the phone. Many people here, on MoDaCo, said that flashing other ROMs works if unlocked via version 3 (and I can confirm this ;) ), but not version 2. This only suggests me that what the unlocker writes in the phone is slightly different, therefore I suggested to unlock again with version 3.

Hmmm... the file name on mine was C500v3.exe. Anyway, download the latest version from the imei-check website.

Other ROMs... anything for the HTC Typhoon hardware should work. That means QTek 8010, iMate SP3, Orange SPV C500, Audiovox SMT5600.

No idea. Worked on mine - no crashes - but I reverted to Orange ROM 4.1.1.4, as it seems the best so far.

Try flashing it again, maybe there was an error :roll:
