Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 (edited) m500, i thought it was an upgrade version of imate jam? found this from tech digest: E-ten’s Microsoft Windows-powered smartphone, which we wrote about a couple of months back, has just gone on sale in the UK. The M500 is an upright handset with a 2.8in 240x320 pixel, 64K colour screen. It runs on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 second edition operating system, which incorporates versions of Word, Outlook, Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer etc. It also sports a 400 MHz processor, 130MB of memory, a 1.3 megapixel camera with a flash and video shooting capabilities, and Bluetooth. It retails for about £350 Sim-free from Smart Devices. it's really confusing. #-o ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) Edited March 4, 2005 by hunyango_uk
Guest Pondrew Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 See my post in your other thread... The Orange M500 and E-Ten M500 are two different devices. But, you're right that it's confusing!
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 anybody who's confused aboout this E-ten m500 and orange M500? come on guys, be honest.
Guest Pondrew Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 I'm more confused where the suggestions of the Orange M500 bring different hardware to the Jam/XDA Mini/MDA Compact are coming from. But don't worry the only reason there hasn't been more confusion over the E-Ten is that it's had very little mention even on here...
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 the e-ten m500 is not that bad, 130 mb mem( i think that this sounds good). but there is a thing with i mate jam/xda mini/magician/mda compact and the others don't have, i don't know what it is. but i'm still jammin', no doubt bout that.
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 (edited) pondrew => so you were saying that orange M500 is still the same mda compact/htc magician/xda mini/imate jam, with same components. i think this is where i started to be confused: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119052 i thought this is going to be the orange m500, or am i right? and the xda 2i/m2500 is the upgrade version of m2000/xda 2/. 520mhz processor and 128mb mem, is this right? enlighten me please. I'd be very surprised if Orange did this. The XDA2i/M2500 is known as the HTC Alpine. It looks like the older XDA2/M1000 (known as the HTC Himalaya) but features a faster processor/wifi/1.3meg camera etc. The XDA2s/M2000 meanwhile is another model entirely called the HTC Blue Angel with different case (encorporating slide out QWERTY keyboard) and slightly worse specs then the forthcoming M2500...
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 (edited) oh, thank you. i understand it now, last question but a bit off topic. any idea bout the release of orange c550 and spv 3g/mda iv/htc universal? i think i'll have one of those :D , still waiting for the imate jam that i ordered yesterday. Guest Pondrew Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 Both have been touted for release this summer although I thought this was kind of soon. Time will tell I guess!
