Guest loco Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 (edited) I've my mpx 220 for 2 days now and I've a problem to use mp3 or wma ringtones. When I copy such a file into the folder 'storage>application data>sounds' (is it the right folder) on phone the the ringtones in these format doesn't appear in the list of possible chooseable ringtones. When I open for example a wave file wiht the file explorer somewhere saved on the phone, it opens in "sound player", there 's a menu option called "save". after doing this i can find this wav ilfe in the list of possible ringtones. does'nt work with wma or mp3 cause it opens with media player. it does'nt have this option. Could someone give me a clue please? Edited March 4, 2005 by loco
Guest pd.ryder Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 I don't use a 220 myself but I would expect it to function similarly to my E200. I can use wma's as ringtones but not mp3's, and yes, you are pasting into the right folder. The ringer app just won't 'see' mp3's. There is a small app available on this forum which will allow you to use mp3's from your Storage Card too, so I guess that'll do mp3's from 'sounds' folder as well. A quick search should sort you out. :cheesy:
Guest hamsammich Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 Just as a "control" for this issue, I can put MP3's in that directory and they show up fine and play as ringtones on my 220... ???
Guest arogntbastrd Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 the mpx can use mp3s as ringtones just fine. you have the right folder so if you have the mp3s in there they shoudl show up. if they don't then that's just odd. when in doubt, reset
