when i encode a movie, the pocketdivxencoder just automatically close itself.

What is it you're trying to encode with the program? Does it happen just with one type of thing (ripped DVD, MPEG movie, etc) or does it always happen irrespective of the type of media you're using?

Stupid question, but if this happens with every media type have you tried uninstalling it and re-downloading and installing? Could be something went awry between website and hard drive first time.

I had a problem a couple of weeks ago where it was saying it'd finished really quickly and hadn't atually produced anything! Used a different program to rip the DVD onto my hard drive and it worked fine. I know that isn't what your problem is, but this is the only problem I've had with it.

Make sure you do not have too many applications running in the background. Low memory can crash apps and stop them from working correctly.

@enthusiast i have the same problem with you sometimes. but the thing is when i ripped a dvd movie and click on direct encoding. just automatically close itself, don't know why.

@awarner = don't have that much application running, don't know what's the reason. but before i don't have problem with it. just now.
