Guest coyspiracy Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 ive tried changing the registry like how it is with the wm2002. but it seems to me its not working? anyone have any idea on how to make it work for 2003?
Guest mavisdavis Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 Ive only got a few ppl custom ringtones so Ive not looked into editing the registry on the C500. I also use .wma file types for my ringtones so thier about a third of the size of .wavs
Guest coyspiracy Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 does .wma work for custom ringtone?
Guest mavisdavis Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 yeah place them in Storage/Apllication Data/Sounds
Guest coyspiracy Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 i hope someone can solve this problem..
Guest Confused Stu Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 I've got something from www.airfagev.com that lets you use personal ringtones from your Storage Card. It's called RJV Regtweaks, I think, and it's not as scary or confusing as it sounds! I was expecting something like PHM Registry editor, but it's nothing at all like it. Download it and give it a shot. Just install it, then open it up and set the ringtones path to where you want it and Bob's your uncle! :D

Guest Confused Stu Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Why doesn't it work? Does the program not open, or can't you change the path, or does it just not end up playing your tune? Also, what kind of tunes are you trying to play - WMA, WAV, etc? Not sure I made it clear that you still have to go into a contact and set their personal ringtone to whatever you want. It was only after I installed RJV that going into the personal ringtone list brought up the tunes on my card. Awarner's just warned me that having personal ringtones on your SD card causes some phones to be unstable. I've never had an issue, but consider yourself warned if the phone crashes on you when someone calls, OK? :D

Guest Confused Stu Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 You can put the tones anywhere you want - mine are in a folder called "Storage Card/My Tones" - so long as you remember to tell the RJV program exactly where you stored them.
Guest Islanti Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 (edited) I have tried this tweak. I'm able to assign a ringtone from the Storage Card folder. I haven't been able to get this to work for custom contact ringtones, however. I get an error indicating the ringtone had a problem when I try to assign it. Anyone aware of a fix for this? This is WM2003SE, BTW. Edited March 7, 2005 by Islanti
