Can you confirm that the JAM can be used as a phone without headphones! The reason I ask is that in the (rather large) manual, there I couldn't find a mention of an ear-piece or microphone on the body of the phone!? Also, several posters have talked about audio quality in headphones, but not in any earpiece on the phone itself? Tobin
Guest En_croute Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Yes there is (both) The Audio quality is fine - I have no problems. The Speaker is shown on the pictures at the top, the mic is on the bottom of the unit, to the left of the USB socket.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 I use the Jam as a phone and you wouldn't catch me using an earpiece ! None of my callers has mentioned poor quality reception and, though cases can affect, I have had no problems hearing people.
Guest MitchellO Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Yeah, the quality from the builtin earpiece and mic is perfect. Also, this is the only PPC Phone that looks like a normal phone when at your ear, not like a PDA.

Does anyone else get a link appear on the word PDA in the above reply? It's some kind of popup advert technology that this web site is using. How annoying! I must say I hate anything like that that actully interferes with the content. Nee mind... Tobes
