Guest DSpilky Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 My Moto MPX220 (cingular) shuts itself off with annoying frequency. The battery charge is fine. I initially thought it was because I was keeping the phone in my pocket, but it happens while the phone is resting on my desk as well. Is there a known issue with the battery being loose or something? I find myself checking my phone every 15 minutes to make sure it is still on. HELP please. -Don
Guest martin Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 It could be hardware ? I would tempted to hard reset the phone, not install any software and test the phone for a while and see if the resets still occur.
Guest DSpilky Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Martin, Thanks for the reply... It's not resetting... It's just shutting off. Like the battery lost its connection or something. I am tempted to scotch-tape the battery down to see if that solves it. -Don

The contact sometimes looses touch with the battery because of a slight engineering flaw. Fold a small piece of paper and slide it between the lower right side of the battery and the case as to push the battery up towards the connector. This has worked wonders for me (and others.) ;)
