Guest amazematt Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 My apologies if this has already been covered and/or done to death on these forums, I only just found them after a friend's recommendation and a search of the existing topics turned nothing up. So anyway - I've got the SPV500 on Orange here in the UK and I'm wondering if there is any way that one can set certain often-used functions to be launched by one key. For example, on the Nokia 6230 I just got rid of, it was possible to start a new SMS message by simply clicking the central control button to the left. I was wondering if something similar, using either the control key or the actual numbers on the keypad, was possible with the SPV? I love the SPV500 but if there is one criticism i have then it is that such fucntions either don't exist or, if they do, are a bugger to find in the various menus and settings options. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Matt
Guest amazematt Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 A follow-up thought: I realise the interface has a launch bar of recently used items which make access to regularly used features easier, but in my experience (and again, any advice if I am doing something wrong would be great) if you click on, for instance, messaging, you get the main menu of 1 Media Messages 2 Text Messages 3 Outloook E-Mail 4 IMAP4 when all you actually want is a blank SMS to start using.
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 The Orange Homescreen has a link to create a new SMS, but it's so bl**dy complicated that I've never bothered trying to work out how to use the plugin on another homescreen So basically it can be done, but not easily (which rules me out! :D )
