Guest flyswat Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Hi, I know this isn't really a smartphone issue, but someone here is more than likely to know the answer. For what must be the last couple of years, orange send me a SMS message when I receive an E-mail to my Orange E-mail address, and they still do ('Email alert'). I do not use the address much so I do not get too many messages. However, I might be going abroad for work for a while and I really do not want to receive the messages while I am away (I do not fancy getting charged or being hassled). Does anyone have any idea how I can stop them temporarily. There used to be a nice, untick here box, which did the job when I logged in to orange E-mail (or it may be Orange account), but now I cannot for the life of me find it and I really do not want to ring up Orange as they are generally clueless about anything in the least bit technical. Any ideas? thanks
Guest martin Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I think you have to go to the orange website and sign in. There should be an E-mail alerts option that you can change.
Guest flyswat Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 thats what I recall I have done in the past, but I cannot find where!?!
Guest martin Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I think it might be the following address as it gives some info about filters etc. I don't use Orange Email so I'm not sure what you have to with it. http://www.orange.co.uk/emailandorganise/ Click on 'Orange Email alerts' and log in. Let us know if it clears the SMS alerts for you.
Guest flyswat Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Yes, that solved the problem! You would think it would be more logical that it should be in the settings section when you log into your orange E-mail, but no, it cannot be that simple... thanks for your help Martin.
