blocking "unkown" numbers?

Hello,

Wondering if there is a way to block "unknown" numbers on a Smartphone?

I know there are sharware utilities like SmartFilter, but wondering if there is a way to do this from the device or if there are other tools out there?

smartfilter is the only app i know of that will do this im afraid

do you happen to know how it actually works?

I'm assuming the call will still have to come in somehow before the software does its thing?
