Guest cubiq Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 My UK orange C500 came like this and it drove me mad. Eventually I found out where it is set though Start->Settings->Phone->Call Options .. voice mail number
Guest AngelOfRage Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 ive got a problem that when dialing voicemail (via speeddial as i dont know the full number) it connects and says calling Answerphone yet it does nothing, no tone, sound or anything... (any ideas on this one? im on UK Orange btw)
Guest user888 Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Ehm. I kinda have the same problem. Ehm. I used 'Space Maker' to make some space and after that I lost all my shortcut keybindings!! I'm not sure if Space Maker is the reason I lost them, but it happened around the same time. I can restore the bindings I created myself but I also lost the voicemail (key 1) and the profiles binding (holding the green phone button). I'm not happy ;-( Powering off/on doesn't help either... ive got a problem that when dialing voicemail (via speeddial as i dont know the full number) it connects and says calling Answerphone yet it does nothing, no tone, sound or anything... (any ideas on this one? im on UK Orange btw) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest user888 Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 FYI. Well, it even gets worse. Hard resetting the device doesn't even bring back the profile menu (holding green phone) or voicemail (holding the 1 key)....
Guest user888 Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Okay, status update. I got my 1-voicemail binding back by following these steps: 1. Power off phone 2. Remove SIM card 3. Power on phone (wait for 'no sim card' message) 4. Power off phone 5. Insert SIM card again 6. Power on phone again. When a SIM-card is inserted for the first time, some provider specific info is copied from the card into the phone. I still don't have my green-button hold-profiles (what's in a name) binding back. Now I'm wondering if I'm not crazy, but I'm very sure holding the green button showed a profiles menu (slightly different from the menu when pressing the on/off button for a short while). But that's ok. The warning still stands: BE CAREFULL WITH SPACE MAKER! Good news for Dutch orange users with a C500: there is a C500 software update on its way!
Guest richard_hogg Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 That method didn't work for me.. But.. I went into the speed dial options (Start, accessories, speed dial) and clicked on answerphone, then clicked again. It started to dial voicemail and it seems to work when I hold down 1 again... Strange... Oh.. And I managed to lose my settings while setting the voicemail number in the first place :D
Guest sifaan Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 I still don't have my green-button hold-profiles (what's in a name) binding back. Now I'm wondering if I'm not crazy, but I'm very sure holding the green button showed a profiles menu (slightly different from the menu when pressing the on/off button for a short while). But that's ok. The quicklist appears when you hold down on the home key, not on the green button (at least on my SP3i)... any ideas how to modify the quicklists (from short press on power button or longpress on Home to include different items?) /Sifaan
Guest user888 Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 Yes that's correct. However (if I'm not losing my mind), I also had a quicklist when holding the green button. It was the same list as in the menu Settings-3.Profiles. Can somebody (Dutch Orange user?) confirm that I'm not losing my mind? ;-) The quicklist appears when you hold down on the home key, not on the green button (at least on my SP3i)... any ideas how to modify the quicklists (from short press on power button or longpress on Home to include different items?) /Sifaan <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This problem also happens after a reboot and the right hand soft button displays "Answerphone" or something like that. in terms of holding the "green" or pickup button down i dont get a Profile menu and cant remember ever having seeing one.
