Glyphcache speedboost for C500?

Does anyone know if the 'GlyphCache' speedboost trick also works for the C500? It's the trick with the registry change: HKLM\System\GDI\GLYPHCACHE=32768

Some other posting said: "whatever you do, don't use it on a C500". Well, I read that too late and applied the trick (using a CAB file created with CustomCABbage). However, I don't see a dramatic change in speed (negative or positive).

Btw, can anybody tell me the default values of this registry entry? I kinda forgot it ;-) When uninstalling it changes to 8192 (or something), I'm not sure if this is the original value.
