Guest Val Moraru Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Hello everybody ! I found a lot of useful info here. I've just bought an SPV C500. And I have few question. Is there anybody that might help me ? 1. How can I play .avi files ? I downloaded some .avi on my SPV, but do not play with WMP or Pocket TV. 2. I tried to install some other screens/themes, but when installing I get the message " not enough system permissions". 3. How can I re-arrange programs in the menu ? 4. I have noticed that if I exit from an application/game/etc that program still remains active. In Task manager they still appear. How can I be sure that I end a program when exit from it ? Do I really need to go everytime in Task Manager to stop all active stuff ? 5. Any other help, I will really appreciate ! Thank you all ! See you ! VM.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 1, You need Beta Player for avi files BetaPlayer HERE 2, You need to application unlock your phone at the Orange developers site HERE 3, You can rearrange some of the items by making changes in the registry. Regisrty Tweaks HERE 4,Apps are supposed to be in the background and not use system resources, this is a specification with the Smartphone platform from MS 5, Have a look in the Articles and FAq sections of the site for more information :D
Guest martin Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Welcome Val Moraru 1. Has to be the mighty BetaPlayer 0.5 :D http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/ (Download the smartphone exe file and run from PC to install) You can also use PocketDivXEncoder to optimise the AVI file for the smartphone. 2 You can application unlock the SPV via the developers site. http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx 3. It can be done by Modifying the registry. I think there is an application that does it but I can't remember it. 4. The smartphone OS is designed to keep applications open (in the background) but you can manually close them via Task Manager. 5. Tip: Store as many applications or files on SD as possible and keep track of your phone memory using Spacemaker. If you start running low on phone memory then problems can arise. Hope that helps :D
