Guest brykins Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Hi all - newbie here (I only got my C500 this morning - cracking phone!). I have unlocked it so that I can switch between my Orange PAYG sim and my O2 contract sim and that all works fine. However - liking to have control over everything, I wanted to do the Certificate Security unlocking from the Orange web site but I am running into trouble. I enter the right details in, but get the error: Sorry but we are unable to find the IMEI number that you have entered on our database. I downloaded the Registry application and ran that and it says that I am registered, and that the lock is running. Any idea of why I am getting the error message and what I might be able to do about it? Thanks, Bryan A
Guest bronksy Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 bump same thing happened to me now.. never had this problem before
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Have you both tried again, recently ? The Orange mainframe is notorious for its erratic beahiour.
Guest brykins Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Had some success at last - realised that when you find the IMIE number of the phone via the keypresses, you get a number that is two digits longer than the number on the box/under the battery. This is the right number....it won't work using the number from the box or from under the battery.
Guest bronksy Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I've done this a zillion times but this time I've had an issue with the IMEI number.. i've been using the number from the phone too.. any other ideas?
