Guest hotphil Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 Read this article today: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/03/14/mo...a_copilot_live/ so is the MPx220 finally about to be coming out in the UK? They need something on it to put the sparkle back on a 2 year old handset and get the stocks moving. Perhaps this app/GPS bundle is it.
Guest stevem999 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Sounds good, is this what the delay has been with the release on O2? As we know, it's been in their catalogue since November but not released - maybe they were waiting for this deal to be sorted?
Guest stevem999 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 maybe they were waiting for this deal to be sorted? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and then again, perhaps not - was looking through the O2 catalogue and noticed there is an e-mail address to ask questions if you can't find what you're looking for ([email protected]). Well I've been looking at an MPX220 since it appeared in the O2 brochure last year so I told them this, here's what they wrote: This handset has suffered several delays due to software problems. Motorola are currently working to resolve these issues but at this stage we have not been given a new date. We have taken the decision to remove this handset from the April guide until such time as we have more information on its availability. Please accept my apologies for this situation and I hope to be able to provide this product to you in the future. Regards The Just Tell Us Crew That doesn't sound at all healthy and probably justifies all the gloom over this handset. On the plus side, it could be that O2 are genuinely making Moto sort out all the problems we've heard from the States once and for all before releasing it, and further to the earlier posts, putting together bundles of Sat Nav gear to make it tempting again after all the hullabaloo. We can only wait - I WILL have a new clamshell smartphone, I will, I will.
Guest ShaneBoyd Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 The delay will ultimately mean people get a better product. They should take the time to get all the features and everything in place before they put it out, so that it's a better final product.
Guest whitestar Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Spoke to sales advisor in my local O2 shop today who said that the 220 has been delayed indefinately.
