right, iv been after an mpx220 for ages, or an i-mate jam, but i really like oranges tariffs! compared to t-mobile or vodafone they are better for me - i need the 500 texts a month and orange's gps package is cheaper

but with the massive delay in mpx220 and the expense of sim-free i haven't been able to get either, my contract finished in february, so i plan to cancel and get a new one anyway, my idea is this -

1 - buy a phone that i don't want from orange with a contract

2 - sell that phone on ebay

3 - use the ebay money to buy an mpx220 or jam sim-free from expansys

4 - put the orange simcard i got above into it

could i do this? or is there anything stopping me?

Nothing, except that the phone you buy from Orange will be locked and you would need to unlock it first before selling it on ebay.

well that or sell it as sim-locked i guess... if it's only £10 to unlock it i might as well do that... hmmmmm what an interesting plan, i'll give it another couple of weeks as the c550 was looking tempting too!

The only problem might be the value of the phone on eBay.

I got a couple of E200s for the same reason, and flogged them for £180 each, which paid for my new handset, but nowadays I'm not sure phones go for that much.

Your best bet is to see what you can get free (or cheap) from Orange, and see what they go for on eBay

yup, i don't mind paying some towards the sim-free phone, as long as its no more than £100 :D after all i paid £100 for this e200 i have, which is now useless as joystick won't go in any direction very easily lol and they keypad lights gone.. although the battery has improved over time :/ the first day i had it i got 6 hours from the battery now it lasts 3/4 days i guess i use it alot less though
