Guest xenophobe Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 That's funny. Orange the provider? lol. They don't even have service in the US. You'd think they'd be more likely to provide this kind of expo in Europe or Australia.

And come to think of it, I am sitting here in the US with an Orange E200. Go figure.

Guest Chris Edwards Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Don't see any mention of SmartPhones? If it's just going to be Sybian, Palm & Nokia then those guys need all the help they can get :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I also go the email from Orange, and posted this on PocketMatrix a few days ago. I emailed back asking for more info on the MS events, and here's what I got: "Microsoft is a gold sponsor of the event. So there will be a strong focus on MS Mobile developing." Here is some of the program information available on their website. Apparently there will also be a few more sessions that aren't mentioned: "Also on Tuesday there will be two additional Microsoft sessions in the 'operating systems and execution environments' track, followed by a repeat of one of them on Wednesday." Microsoft Windows Mobile 101 Learn what it takes to develop products for Windows Mobile based phones such as the Orange SPV, discuss tools and resources available to developers from MS, does Orange fully support MS Mobile 2 Market? Are you new to Microsoft's Mobile platform and development tools? What is Windows Mobile? What's Microsoft's strategy and view of Mobile platforms? What types of application can I build for Windows Mobile? How can I build them? Deploy them? Where is Microsoft going with the platform? All these questions will be answered in this informative session. Workshops: Passing Microsoft Mobile 2 Market Learn about Microsoft Mobile 2 Market and how Orange support this initiative Open Mobile Platforms for your Applications Discover and discuss the strengths and main challenges of open source platforms and the opportunities each of them provide to developers. Learn about more than just open source. With 1.5 billion wireless subscribers, nearly half of these devices will have an open mobile platform, allowing application developers like you to feed mobile subscribers with innovative services. But these platforms have different backgrounds, maturity levels, and support in the industry. This session will focus on the strengths and main challenges of these platforms and the opportunities each of them provide to developers. http://www.pocketmatrix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20876
