MPX 220 trouble playing videos

I downloaded "Windows Media Encoder" to change my .avi files to .wmv so I can play them with WMP9 on my phone. I select the processing style to be for “portable media devices”, which I think only changes the size/resolution. The converted file then has a .wmv tag.

It will plays .wma but it will not play .wmv. It finds them in the storage card but once you select the file it will open a blank screen, sit for a min, then move on to the next file.

I know this has worked for others. Curious, am I doing something wrong?

Ah f*ck it….I check out beta player and it simply blows away WMP. Plays all most everything and has an equalizer to boot. Fast Forward and Rewind…awesome! I’m really impressed. After looking at this player, it makes me wonder why they left WMP9 like they did….lame….
