I need to buy a new Smartphone, suggestions please

Hi,

Up until recently (until a nice burglar came into my house and took my SPV C500) I had a smartphone. I was happy with it, really happy with the syncing with Outlook, speed, functionality etc. Not so happy with Bluetooth compatibility, the horrible joystick and massive dust build up!

I want to get another phone (as soon as the insurance company pay up) and I am looking to spend about 300UKP. Now, phones I'm looking at are:-

Another SPV C500

Motorola MPX220

Maybe P910i

Maybe a P910i because I'm sure it won't sync as well as a Windows Mobile phone. Are there some phones I should look at in this price bracket? Can you give me some pointers (only phones I can get now, not in the future!).

I'm based in the UK and it's not Windows Mobile, which I *ideally* want. Not a great fan of that keyboard either. It's a Motorola Razor V3 isn't it?

No, the iMate JAM is a small (almost smartphone-sized) PocketPC Phone Edition.

The P910 will sync with Outlook, and in many ways the sync'ing is better than ActiveSync, but (like the JAM) these things are bigger and not so comfortable to carry in a pocket... although you can if you want to impress the laydeeez.

Or, the P910 if that's what suits you but it is bigger and bulkier. The JAM also seeems very popular.

If you liked the C500 but didn't ike the rocker there's always the T-Mobile SDA which you can get with free GPS.

It might be cheaper to search around for the best deal with a contract than to buy one without a contract (I'm asuming you're still in a contract with O)

The Mpx220 has not been approved for use by any of the UK's networks and you have to ask yourself why?

Personally I love my C500

I can't see the Jam for anything less than 395UKP from Expansys. Could I get it cheaper anywhere else?

it's on a contract on t mobile. the best ppc phone in the market. got one and i love it.
