SPV E200 not reading from or 'detecting' SD Card?

Hi there

I think my SPV E200's card slot has malfunctioned.

Over the past week or so I have had to keep removing the card and re-inserting it to enable me to use any apps etc. stored on the card. Now the phone will not read from the card at all.

I have tried the card in my PC (via a card reader) and it can be read fine. I even re-formatted the card (FAT) and copied all the data back, and the phone still does not read the card.

I have tried the card in another SPV E200 and it reads fine, and the card from that SPV E200 will not read in my phone.

The phone used to brighten the display when a card was inserted and it is not doing this either now, so this is what makes me think it is a problem with the phone.

I have updated the phone to the latest UK Rom version (2.7.1.1) and this makes no difference. I have also hard reset the phone a couple of times (with card in or out) and this makes no difference... :oops:

In fact now when I click on 'Explore' in Activesync all I get is a folder called "Databases" nothing else.

Is my phone dying?

It operates OK as a phone, but no access to the SD Card.

Can anyone suggest anything else to try?

It does sound like a hardware fault, unfortunately there is no easy way to fix the SD slot.
