MPX200 will not charge!

My MPX200 is no longer charging when plugged into the charger or by usb to the computer. The first symptom was that about 2 week ago I couldn't sync anymore (but still could charge) and now it won't charge at all and as a result is dead now :-(

Does any one have any suggestions about this? Is this a hardware issue, like a bad connector? Can it be serviced easily? Or is this some crazy software related thing?

Any help would really be apprectiated, otherwise my MPX is dead and out of action :D

Ok, life is strange. The phone WILL charge in my car charger, but of course I have to have the car running to do it. So, A/C charger doesn't work, USB/Computer doesn't charge or connect, but car charger does. What gives? Any one have a clue about this???

There is a fuse in the MPX200 that is prone to blowing, this seems more related to AT&T MPX200 phones though.

But if your phone is definately charging it's not that which meand a hard reset may be in order.

One thing to try is to remove the battery for 30 seconds then try to charge again.

It still will charge in my car charger (only) so doesn't sound like the fuse in this case. I thought maybe a connector might be bad, but I really doubt 2 of them would be bad at the same time (the a/c charger and USB).

I guess I can try a reset (sigh, will take ages to get everything back, especially if I have no USB connection).

So even if phone is powered off, you think the reset would affect whether it could charge???

Ok, here's the latest!

I took the battery out of the phone for 24 hours and then tried to charge it with the A/C adaptor. IT WORKED. Taking the battery out for periods of 10-15 minutes prior to that did not work.

Any idea what is causing this problem? I am sure the phone will not go back to working properly, there is something causing this.

Any ideas????

OMG, I got this problem too. I searched this forum for "wont recharge" and got into this thread. I've now removed my battery in hopes I would get a MIRACLE like what happened to yours. Fingers crossed....

OK, I'll just post my entire symptom here in case someone needs help in the future.

I usually charge at both home or work, depending on where/when the battery would go low. At work, I use a USB cable to charge the phone, and at home, I use the AC adaptor.

Today, all of a sudden, my phone will not recharge thru the USB cable anymore. Havent tried using the AC adaptor though. Master RESET did not help the charging problem.

Recent changes to my phone includes:

- installed and evaluated Sprite Backup

(had a bad backup process)
