Guest confused and hungover Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 i realised today for the first time that a lot of people actually have several phones running at the same time.... i'm curious how many phones is 'average' and what type of phoes they are, what they get used for etc.... i have 1. its very nice.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I used to give mine away when I upgraded but keep them now to help me with peoples' questions on the forum. The collection stands at 6 at the moment
Guest confused and hungover Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I used to give mine away when I upgraded but keep them now to help me with peoples' questions on the forum. The collection stands at 6 at the moment <{POST_SNAPBACK}> all with active sims? how do you keep up?? do different people have different numbers to contact you on??
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 No, I'd keep the SIM. I've got a PAYG SIM as an alternative but would get confused with multiple numbers! The original idea was to help spread the wonder of Smartphones amongst my friends but they turned out to be a bunch of ingrates who probably can't programme their videos. I got one back from an old girlfriend who complained about battery life and my sister wanted to download crappy ringtones from dodgy websites. She has seen the light now though with the C500s. 8)
Guest Confucious Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I have two phones. My C500 which is the phone I love and would use all the time and a Motorolla A1000 on 3 for the cheap minutes - It's a pain having 2 phones but 750 mins and 150 txts a month for £20/month just had to be had! :D I also have a Nokia 7600, Motorla A835 & A920 and an NEC e606 and a PAYG SIM and a 3toGo SIM on 3 but I never use them.
Guest Drewtech Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I used to carry a phone and iPAQ PPC and laptop. Since I got the C500 I have sold the iPAQ. I still have to carry the laptop though. Device reduction is what I aim for.
Guest xda-rocks Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 MDA3 with 3000 daytime minutes/month, and MPx220 on orange 400 to call Xnet, at night and weekends.
Guest Pondrew Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 These days I've just got an Orange SPV E200 (HTC Voyager - better then ever since I sent it to HTC for refurb and in my opinion a classic device) and T-Mobile MDA III (HTC Blue Angel - was that ever a learning experience for a Pocket PC noob!?). I swap sim card according to my needs and take both when I'm going to be bored! As far as old Smartphones go I've had the original SPV (HTC Canary - still love it to this day!) and a C500 (HTC Typhoon - albeit for barely a day as I decided to sell it to get the MDA III), both of which are still going strong under the ownership of my Dad.
Guest roma0803 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 2 Phones. A Nokia 6310i. Used it for work but now never on and used by my 20 months old son who talkes to the whole world with it, he thinks :D MPx220 SmartPhone. Does it all for me now and has the potential to do even more in the future since software development slowly progresses.

Mio 8390 is not all that great but it works.
Guest Skeese Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 my mio 8390 is doing fine. haha you got to use cool face. i got a nokia 7600 sitting on my desk with no sim. but all the other phones i had, have been sent abroad :D
Guest moosery Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 old phones work well as media players (without worrying if your battery will run out and leave you stranded!)
Guest xenophobe Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 I have 1 active phone.... 5 other phones... 4 cdma, 1 old school analog...
Guest TigerNet Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 ...3 at the moment...uses depend on what I am doing...coaching rugby (don't want to ruin the SP3 or Jam)...office/pub (Jam/SP3)...I keep one SIM and just swap it out... Cheers Nick
Guest Chaser81 Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Only the one phone at the moment (Jam). I normally change them every four or five months but I sell the old one on rather than keeping it, so I normally only ever have the one phone.
Guest sracer Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I have 3 phones, but only 2 are active. I have a vox SMT-5600 activated for T-Mobile to Go prepaid service. I use it as my PDA and secondary phone (until I can determine the quality of T-Mobile service in my area). I have a Motorola i730 activated for the Boost Mobile prepaid (uses Nextel's iDEN network). This is my primary cell and use it for WAP and Walkie-Talkie. I have a vox 8610 POS hardwired for VirginMobile's prepaid. This hunk-o-junk phone is just sitting around, gathering dust. I don't use cell phones enough to justify a contract plan... I'm paying only $13 a month for two phones. And with the money I save, I get to buy a new phone every 6-8 months or so...if I'm so inclined.
Guest Tunney Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 3 at the moment - C500, Nokia 7610 and SE P910i. Use the Nokia 7610 the most.
Guest atonks Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I have a C500, which is great for ..... almost everything. This is usually my main phone, but at the moment with free GPRS it's got a PAYG SIM in it. :D I also have a Moto V3, which doesn't do much, but is a beautiful phone. It always gets admired, and as a phone (rather than a gadget) it is superb. I have an E200, (which I occasionally use for some games, as the C500 is a bit poor with that controller) and a Nokia 6310i, just in case. You can always rely on a 6310i :D
Guest specialized Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 I have a SMT5600 and a V180. Also an old StarTAC somewhere!
Guest squall Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 I have a few in drawers, but im down to one that i use, the c500 Time for a change soon tho!
Guest C500mad Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 I have a C500 which I use all the time - A treo 600 whose battery dies to quickly - an M2000 which is great but again the battery dies to quickly - A blackberry 7230 which looks like a kiddies phone, a siemens S55 which switches off after 30 seconds, a Jornada 928 which I have never used as it is too big. The C500 is easily the best phone ever - went from the nokia 6310i - just have to get my 1 Gig mini SD and the car kit and the driver for the keyboard and I will be happy for a few years once I have replaced it for the dust free version
Guest kivster_uk Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Have my contract C500 in my pocket at all times ! lots of phones in drawers but all go green when my SPV is about ... time for an upgrade soon tho.
Guest extravagant Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 you really gotta get rid of tha tpicture lol
Guest JamieDow Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I use my C500 and Sony Ericsson Z1010 daily but I also have (and they work) a nokia 6210 nokia 6310 nokia 8210 nokia 9110 communicator and Panasonic X70
