My Smart Amazing Phone Hangs-up during boot-up

Hello.

I have a strange problem with my Smart Amazing Phone 2002. Last night before sleeping, I turned off the said phone. In the morning, I turned it on, and suddenly, the start-up screen freezed & hang-up for hours. I took the battery out, and turned it on again, same problem.

What could be the problem?

I tried hard reset procedure but when I entered the Canary MV v1.09 screen, it displayed "Serial" text at the lower portion of the screen & seems like no response when I tried to press anything from my keypad.

Pls help how to fix this.

It could be a memory or a registry problem causing the hangup.

A hard reset of the phone should sort it although I would fully charge the battery first.

Have a look at the following link for hard reset instructions.

SAP1 and SAP2 are the same as the SPV E100 and SPV E200 :D

I followed the procedure given on how to hard reset, but still, My SAP hangs in Canary 1.09 boot loader mode. It dispalys "Serial" in the lower left portion of the screen, and when I pressed the keypad buttons, nothing happens.

Does this mean, My SAP can't be repaired anymore?

Pls I need more advices.

Timing matters. You should see the Canary Diag screen (with numbers 1- 8 ) :D

My SAP is now running normally.

i too have this problem with my smart amazing phone. I tried to update my ROM with the latest software featured by smart in their website but after linking my phone with the pc ..... the canary thing seems to stay for good. I ve tried everything posted in this forum but up to now i did not get the trick. can anyone help me.

ive tried using the software from clubimate but it just stuck up. grrrrr.

Hi, I have the exact problem quoted below. Have looked at and tried the video hard resetting procedure and get 2 ALTERNATE results.

1. The Canary MV v1.09 screen in three colours and the "Serial" word appearing at bottom left near soft key, but the whole phone remains in freeze mode!

2. A completely blank white screen in freeze mode!

SUCCESS! Simply removed my simcard and the dummy memory card and tried again, and it worked!

I did try it for more than 20 times to a success, yes timing does matter after you see the press any key by pressing the center toggle.

Can you give me a link on the software update, as of now it is not available on the link from smart. thanks
