Is there a way to setup the phone to automatically send the password when calling voicemail. I am on the cingullar network.

Thanks

there is a don't require password option in the voicemail settings, call your voice mail and press the key that lets you change your options

NOTE: I am using the new voicemail system so it maybe diffrent for the other voicemail platform

I had some voice mail issues and got talking to a Cingular Rep who knew his stuff. He figured out that the phone had been pre-programmed to the wrong call center, both by the seller (on-line) an dlater by the first Cingular Rep who tried to help out. The thing was, when I was sent to the wrong call in number by them, I could usually get my voivcemail, but I had to enter my password.

The second Cingular Rep immediatly recognized this as the tipoff that I was being sent to the wrong call in number. On the CIngular system, no password is required to retrieve your voicemail if you call the correct number. You do need to set up a password to lock up some of the other features.

Try giving Cingular a call and mentioning this issue. Have them look very carefully at the call in number you are using.

Oh yeah, another hint, if the number you are dialing is correct, try re-entering the "+" sign at the beginning of the number.

There are two ways to enter this symbol. One way is when the phone is set to enter text (pressing the "1" key until the "+" sign appears). This is WRONG.

The other is when the phone is set to enter numbers, you press and hold the"#" key to call up a symbols menue. This is the CORRECT way to do it.

Althought the "+" symbol looks the same, these two are in fact different characters. If you enter the "+" while the phone is set to 'text', the phone doesn't see it as a valid part of thephone number, and you won't get to the correct voicemail staring point. Sounds weird, but this is exactly what happened to me. Took an hour to puzzle out, as the CIngular Rep, who was otherwise well versed int ehphone and their system, was unaware that there were 2 distinct "+" symbols. Joint the club, I was too until then!

Good Luck!

Another thing you could do, which is rather long winded, is to setup the number as a speed dial (another one!) and add the P (pause feature) into it, then enter the passcode. That way each time you use "that" speed dial, it will dial the number PAUSE and enter the passcode for you...
