Guest mookie_gr Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 hello, i will really appriciate any help in this subject. i recently had the qtek 8080(aka E200),it was my first smartphone, and it was simply great. I really liked the viriety of programs and games whitch it had,i loved the divx movies whitch it can play, and many more things whitch makes me like the smartphone. I notice that there is also pocket pc's, whitch mostly i like is there big screen, and possibly a better proccessor, but basicly i just want it for the big screen. So i am asking you guys(because i dont know the capabilities of pocket pc) is pocket pc's better than the smartphone? i am not looking for size.it doesnt bother me that pocket pc is bigger. Also i would like to know, with pocket pc's can i do ALL the stuff i was able to do with smartphones?(variety of programs, divx, etc) thank you.

Guest morpheus2702 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Go for the Pocket PC - the platform has been around longer than Smartphone and has a larger user community, so you will find that there will be immensely more applications and programs you can find for it. You say that the physical size of a Pocket PC phone isn't a problem, but remember than they are not designed around a one-handed user interface like the Smartphone.
Guest hunyango_uk Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 get a ppc and a smartphone, so you will know the difference. then keep it co'z they are both good. i prefer, c500 and imate jam. :D :D :D
Guest sracer Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 It really depends upon your needs. I've had Pocket PCs for over 4 years and I just sold my latest (iPAQ 2215) and bought an Audiovox SMT-5600 Smartphone. It does everything that I needed in a PPC... wma/mp3 playback, wmv video playback, Bible Reader, Maps, notetaking, calendar, contacts, and more. It has the added benefits of being a single device (rather than carry two)... and because they are "merged devices" I can surf using Pocket IE. The Bluetooth folding keyboard makes it very convenient for use as a PDA. I got tired babysitting multiple devices, charging them, customizing them... and grabbing them when I walk out the door. I've been extremely pleased with the smartphone. Granted it has only been a little over 2 weeks, but I have enough experience with gadgets that the rosey-glow of a new device wears off pretty quickly. :D

Guest wookiewacker Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 i always liked smartphone but after seeing my mates spv m2000 the other day my mind is now changed if you can afford it go for the pocket pc
Guest Confucious Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 I've had PPCs and now no longer use them as I have a smartphone. PPCs tend not to be good as phones and the C500 does everything I want so I'm happy with it but the jam looks good - it depends what you want from a device.
Guest havoc... Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 i prefer a smartphone cuz i personally dont like touch screens as it takes longer to write a msg n send it....and to dial a number...but i do recomand it for its features such as the bigger screen...;)
