Guest roma0803 Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Will Install Needless Downloads On your Whole System (WINDOWS), or that's what can be said about Windows when installing and uninstalling software. There are always files and registry settings left behind if the software developer didn't do the best job on the uninstall routine. Can the same be said about Windows Mobile? Is it, like with it's big brother, advisable to do a clean install from ROM every now and then? I know some programs do leave registry settings behind after uninstalling it from your phone. Not only that tiny bit of information that belongs to the registration like how many days of trial you have left, but complete settings. So what is the best way to keep your phone running nice and smooth?
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 You already know the scrore, but best advice is to uninstall anything that you installed; ie. don't just delete files etc. We tend to accept that the occasional hard reset / ROM reinstall is a necessary housekeeping task.
Guest pierre Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Very good question! I sometimes do a hard reset when I feel the SPV starts acting funny. I use Sprite as a backup, but I wonder if it's worth, as I don't know if Sprite backups everything including unwanted reg, etc...
