Guest PritenC Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) After having my e200 for about four months now :D I have decided to get a bluetooth dongle for use with my machine at home. Any recommendations as to the most reliable brand/model that would work with my e200? Cheers in advance []D Edited March 24, 2005 by PritenC
Guest roma0803 Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) I don't know if there's much difference between them all except for price and range (10 or 100 meters), but I use the MSI USB BT dongle and am very happy with it. At work I installed the software that came with it (WidComm). At home I installed the XP SP2 BT drivers. Sync both at home and at work with BT without problems (MPx220 by the way). Guest tudor Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 I fount TDK USB dongles to be very reliable, and they work with the XP SP2 drivers, as well as with the WidComm ones. About range, don't spend money on a Class 1 device, as the phone is Class 2 and the range is dictated by the lowest-power device.
Guest ramjam Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 i recently bought the newlink class1 bluetooth dongle for around £20 something. from ITP www.it-partnership.com give them a call. the range is 100metres and signal is very strong, i use my SPV in living room nxt door to office. give them a ring and they will send one out to you.
Guest cubik Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 I bought a i-Tech Mini Bluetooth USB dongle from my local Orange shop for 20 quid just after Christmas... Have been using it happily with my C500 ever since. Works great with the MS XP drivers (Win 98 SE, ME and 2K also supported - drivers included on mini CD). ...don't spend money on a Class 1 device, as the phone is Class 2 and the range is dictated by the lowest-power device.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
