Guest kimveasna Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Hi, I recently got a MPX220 phone, and I have tried to run or install java apps for 3 days with no success. Actually, I cannot even install MIDP apps from Internet Explorer (when I select a jad file, the browser only shows jad file text content, and when selecting jar files, my brownser just complains about a forbidden page - locked ?). And I cannot launch a midp app by just clicking on it in file explorer, there is no file association for .jar. Finally, jeodek (the JVM) doesn't have an action button to download games from the internet ... (locked?) Can anyone help ? Lucky people who can launch jar files directly from file explorer, can you post key/value of your registry for .jar files ? Or is there any soft or code to unlock jeodek machine to download jars from the internet ? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whenever I've seen it not work from a web site is when the web site did not return the proper mime type for a JAD file. To test whether it is your phone or not, go to one of these sites and try to download one of their JAD files from IE on your phone. http://midlet.org/index2.jsp http://www.uti.com/~mjlarsen/index.html

I can't load games from these web sites, it seems it's my phone. If you have a registry editor, can you tell me what is the file association for .jar or .jad files ? I guess under key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > jarfiles > Shell > Open > Command, you can find a value for "Default" which should be something like "jeodek.exe ... %1 ..". If anyone could help ...

I actually added one to point to Jeodek.exe, but I still couldn't get it work that way. The only way I've been able to get a Java program to install was by utilizing IE on the phone and clicking on the JAD file (not JAR file).
